Classes Offered

At Laurie's Learn to Skate you will begin in the Kidz 1st step program on the Synthetic ice surface , if your child has never skated before. When they have completed our Kidz first step program and are ready they can move to a 30 minute real ice program on our mini rink or big ice surfaces.

We have many programs to continue into such as, School age (beginner and advanced), Figure skating (beginner to advanced), and Hockey skill development (beginner to advanced).

Beginner Classes:

Beginner (30 Minute Classes)

  • The child must be able to stand alone on skates and be able to get up by themselves and walk across the ice without any assistance. Highly recommended that you do a Synthetic ice session first or have been out on your own.
  • Recommened Age - 4 to 6 years old.

All Levels:

Pre-School (40 Minute Classes)

  • This program is geared towards children who have successfully completed a Beginner class. Children are provided with the oppourtunity to experience the basics at a progressive pace.
  • Recommened Age - 4 to 6 years old.

Beginner School Age (40 Minute Classes)

  • This Program will help develop strength and balance using various skills and techniques involved with skating. This is geared towards the beginner skater that has been on the ice before and can walk across the ice.
  • Recommened Age - 6 years old and up

School Age (40 Minute Classes)

  • This program is the next step after beginner school age. It will further develop strength and balance using various skills and techniques involved with skating. This is geared towards the intermediate skater.
  • Recommened Age - 6 years old and up
